Powerful data distributor

The number of industrial devices with Ethernet interface is constantly increasing. Today, not only computers or PLCs are equipped with one or more LAN ports, but also drives, frequency converters, I/O systems, controllers and even simple sensors and actuators. To connect these Ethernet devices to the network, the unmanaged 5- or 8-port switch, which has been in service on the machine or plant for ten or more years, is no longer sufficient. Since the complexity of the network automatically increases drastically with the number of devices, Ethernet switches for DIN rails with high port density and convenient network management functions are required.

With its 16x 10/100/1000TX ports and 4x 100/1000FX (SFP) ports, the industrial Ethernet switch IGS-20040MT offers extremely high connectivity in the smallest dimensions.

Its features include network redundancy through ERPS ring function, a redundant power supply of 9-48 VDC, an error alarm via relay output and one digital input/output each as well as an extended operating temperature range of 40 to +75 °C. Network management functions can be set via Web, Telnet or SNMP, and SSH, TLS and SNMPv3 are used for data security.

Tip: If all 16 copper ports on the switch are occupied, the SFP module "MGB-GT" can be used to convert unused SFP ports into additional copper ports with RJ-45 connector. This is a quick and uncomplicated expansion measure that avoids costly conversions for the time being.
