IT and OT - At home in both worlds
The basis for digitization of any kind is the networking of all units involved in the process. However, without a holistic networking approach, the benefits generated from digitization projects are very limited. This brings new challenges. One essential point is the merging of the IT world and the manufacturing world.
To close this gap, Spectra offers you a customized solution with the intelligent IGS-6325-8T8S4X Layer 3 Switch. The compact managed switch provides you with extensive security and monitoring features on the IT side. These include, for example, ACL Access Control List (Layer 2 to Layer 4), V-LANs, DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection functions to protect against attacks or to isolate particularly important areas.
The DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) system helps network administrators easily monitor system parameters such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, transceiver supply voltage and more in real time.
But the IGS-6325-8T8S4X also shows its strengths on the OT side. Thanks to the supported Modbus TCP/IP protocol, you can easily integrate it into SCADA, HMI or MDE systems. Two digital outputs can signal power fail or link lost events. Two digital inputs detect alarm signals from external devices, e.g. "door open" or "air conditioner defective", and forward these signals to administrators via email, SYSLOG or SNMPv3.
You don't have to compromise on interfaces and speed either. The IGS-6325-8T8S4X provides four 10G SFP+ and 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports, eight of which are RJ45 and SFP ports respectively. Using the SFP ports, connections up to 2km in multi mode or longer backbone connections up to 120 kilometers in single mode are possible with suitable SFP modules.
Setup is user-friendly via web and SNMP interface.
And the industrial requirements for reliability and robustness are met by a redundant power supply, an IP30 metal housing and an operating temperature range of -40 to 75 °C.
