SERIAL DEVICES IN THE IP NETWORK

Whether fieldbus I/O or controller, frequency converter or laboratory balance, the serial interface is still used in millions of devices. For the integration of Modbus RTU terminals into an IP network, you can conveniently use the converters of the IMG-100 and IMG-2000 series. These converters, also called gateways, establish the connection between your serial terminal device with Modbus RTU (binary protocol) or Modbus ASCII (ASCII protocol) and Modbus TCP (IP protocol). In this way, your connected Modbus RTU device quickly becomes an IP-based device.

The serial RS-232/422/485 interfaces of the IMG series support the Modbus RTU/ASCII operating mode and various baud rate options.

In addition, one or more serial ports are available depending on the model. All models offer a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and strong electrical surges, which supports use in industrial environments. The wide input voltage range of 12 to 48 V DC, an operating temperature range of -40 to +75°C and the compact IP40-certified metal housing also reinforce this suitability.

Tip: If you do not need the extended temperature range, you can also use the converters of the "non-industrial" MG series.
