Fieldbus gateways
Fieldbus gateways enable the connection of devices without a fieldbus interface to a fieldbus system such as Profibus, CANbus or also Ethernet-based fieldbuses such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP. The gateways usually work as a master on the device side and as a slave on the fieldbus side. They translate the data frame of the device protocol into the data frame of the fieldbus protocol and thus make their process data available to the fieldbus master.
